Bonjour!French music on the menu! M83 released the fine Before The Dawn Heals Us in 2005, an album that contained the anthemic killer tune Don't Save Us From The Flames. Where inspirations as My Bloody Valentine and Sigur Ros shined through on BTDHU, S=Y is more of a tribute to New Order, Vince Clarke and Depeche Mode. M83 called this an electronic concept album. I absolutely hate that description. Luckily, S=Y doens't lack those cinematic sonic soundscapes that M83 are so appreciated for. Electronic music for those who hate electronic music.
